Our mountain story of soap, dogs, goats, birds and grandkids...
Seven years ago we relocated to Oregon from the midwest. Our journey was begun so that we could live next to our wonderful grandchildren in the foothills of the pacific mountain range. We were lucky enough to purchase the home next door to the grandkids and it is literally over the hill and through the woods to grandmother's house they go. We brought with us a dog named Otis. Otis needed a sister, so we got, what else, a pyrenees mountain dog and named her Thelma Lou. Our love of animals didn't stop there and we filled our farm with goats, Barney and Floyd, a duck, Mr. Mallard and 2 geese, Lucy Goosey and Gary Busey. We also have 4 chickens which provide eggs and endless entertainment.
Since those first days we have learned to love the cleansing Oregon mountain rain!
Living in the forest is an eye opening experience, one that encourages a connection to and appreciation of the natural things. Oregon is a leader in organic products and we wanted to integrate those ideas into our soaps and salves. Our rain barrel captures the clean pure water that make our soaps and salves not only unique but moisturizing, healing and wonderful.
Natural and organic with Oregon mountain rain.
The soaps are hand crafted in our kitchen at home. Each batch is hand mixed, poured into a wooden mold, hand cut by Mountain Mary herself and then cured for 6-8 weeks. Once the curing process is complete the soaps are individually packaged with assistance of our grandkids, Rudy Mae and Cypress. Try our soaps and salves for yourself; once you experience handcrafted soaps you will never go back. We also make party favours for weddings, baby showers or any time a party favour will make the event more memorable.
We hope you will try our products and tell your friends about Mountain Mary's Soaps and Salves!
